Purpose: Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune disease which is on the rise in recent years especially in Iran. Although there has been much progress in MS treatment, there is no definitive cure for it. Considering high prices of prescription drugs and their serious side effects as well as, impact of this illness on function efficiency of individuals, it seems that exercise training is one of the effective, cheap, and without side effects methods, in improvement of the performance of MS patients. In this regard, the present study aimed to provide comprehensive information on the background and the latest studies conducted to evaluate the effect of various exercise trainings (resistance, aerobic, core stability, Pilates, and combined) on this disease. Methods: An electronic search from 1994 to 2022 was performed in the Magiran, SID, PubMed, Google Scholar, and Scopus databases to find published articles. The keywords were multiple sclerosis, physical activity, exercise, training, aerobics, resistance, combined, core stability and Pilates. Different articles were selected and reviewed according to relation with subject. Results: The results indicated that various exercise training with different duration, intensity, and frequency cause different adaptations in people. Furthermore, regular continuous combined exercise training can be more effective than one type of exercise training in improvement and reduction of the symptoms of MS disease. The mechanism of improvement in combined exercise training can be justified due to the benefits of concurrent use of two or more types of training protocols. Conclusions: It can be said that the combined use of exercise trainings is the most useful and effective method for these patients. However, more studies on the best combination of exercise trainings for MS patients should be done in the future.

Purpose: Prophylactic effect of PNF stretching is performed with an expectation to reduce the risk of eccentric exercise-induced muscle damage and enhance drop jump performance. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation stretching combined with plyometric training on deep jump in non-athlete male students. Method: The study design was a single blinded, randomized, concurrent parallel trial. Forty-two non-athlete male students were volunteered to participate in this study. Participants were assigned into plyometric (n=21) and plyometric & PNF (n=21) groups. Maximum and minimum vertical displacements, flight time, joint power, maximum landing force, peak take off instantaneous velocity were measured at baseline and 48 hours following the plyometric exercise protocol. A Vicon (200 Hz) motion analysis system with six T-Series cameras and two Kistler force plates (1000 HZ) were used to record kinematic and kinetic data, respectively. A two-way repeatedmeasure ANOVA (group x DOMS) was used to analyze data. Results: There was a significant difference between the pretest and the posttest scores in the intervention group for maximum vertical displacement (p=0.028), flight time (p=0.042), and Power average (p=0.026). Conclusions: This prophylactic treatment on mechanical parameters of deep jump during timing was useful. Eventually, results suggest that preventative treatments can have a significant effect on maintenance functional parameters or even helping to slow exercise-induced muscle damage for alleviating its symptoms.

Purpose: A number of clinical decision tools for osteoporosis risk assessment have been developed to select postmenopausal women for the measurement of bone mineral density. We developed Data mining algorithm with the aim of more accurately identifying the risk of in postmenopausal women compared to the ability of conventional clinical decision tools. Materials and Methods: The present study was a cross-sectional development study conducted in the second half of 2018. In the present study, first, by identifying the influential variables, a survey questionnaire was prepared to select the most important clinical factors. Bone mineral density information of women referred to the bone density measurement unit of Khatam Al-Anbia Hospital in Tehran was used to teach the K-Nearest Ne neighbors (K-NN) algorithm (based on simple studies). Evaluation was based on accuracy. We also reviewed the results of several scientific articles and suggested the best sports activities according to the bone density of individuals. Results: The K-NN algorithm with sub-curve surface (AUC) showed significant performance. The algorithm predicted the risk of osteoporosis with an accuracy of 61.7% in the femoral neck for women participating in the experiment. Also, regular resistance and endurance training exercises repeated for 2-3 times a week for a year can have significant effects on maintaining or increasing hip BMD in postmenopausal women. Conclusion: Considering various predictors associated with low bone density, the K-NN algorithm may be an effective tool for identifying women at high risk for osteoporosis. This method widely recommends and predicts regular resistance and endurance training exercises for women with a high risk of osteoporosis.

Purpose: Sleep and exercise influence each other through complex interactions. Sleep disorders incidence in athletes are high among several sports. Method: 24 CrossFit practitioners, of both genders, between the ages of 25 and 35, presenting difficulty in initiating sleep, with a total sleep time of less than 6 hours per night, were recruited into a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial that lasted 8 weeks. Participants received capsules containing 3 mg of melatonin + 1200 mg of GABA (gamma-Aminobutyric acid) or placebo at 10:00 pm daily. Sleep quality was assessed using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), cortisol and testosterone levels were measured and total-body skeletal muscle mass (TBSMM) by Lee’s equation performed by two different examiners. Results: Group melatonin + GABA gained an average of 600g of TBSMM while the control group lost 200g (p = 0.295). Both groups improve PSQI score (p = 0.007). No difference was found in cortisol and testosterone level. Conclusions: Although there was a difference between groups about TBSMM, it wasn’t statistically significant. Further studies will be necessary to demonstrate evidence of increased TBSMM from better sleep quality, with a larger number of participants and a longer trial.

The sports industry is one of the most popular fields between the nations that need to interact with several factors, from stadium security to marketing staff. Today, security and crowd management are more critical than ever. In many events, the lack of proper security management has caused to be a bitter event due to it. It has created serious risks for the investors that have participated in the game. Due to this, maintaining a long-term relationship with them is a severe challenge. Research has shown a positive correlation between security in sporting events and security in the business. However, few studies have examined how this is. This study utilized samples that included 300 sport management experts. The research tool included: "Marketing mix standard" and "researcher-made security" questionnaires, each with 45 items. Using exploratory factor analysis, security determinants related to the marketing mix of sports events, which were related to the marketing mix of the tournament, were identified. The results showed that 12 factors have contributed to security, and 11 elements were involved in the marketing mix. The results showed that security documentation and training should receive special attention along with hardware and software management of venues, management and planning, and physical protection, as well as security services and facilities, to improve the security conditions in soccer matches. Managers must have proper management, which leads to the satisfaction of spectators and prevention of crowded. The sense of security creates a suitable atmosphere for marketing activities in sports events.

Purpose: Analysis current goals at the gyms would answer some of the questions about the (un)continuation of physical activity (PA) and point out factors that have less attention in care and health program. This article examines women's exercise space in order to answer an important question: ‘Why most women have problems with regular PA and cannot permanently benefit from a long-term regular exercise program?’ This was a qualitative study. Method: Data collection was carried out through attendance at women's gyms and registration of symbols and symptoms and analyzed by thematic analysis (Broun & Clark, 2006). Results: Results showed that there were two main themes for women to participate in the PA which can be defined in terms of goals. Objectives called fear of obesity and overweight; and the goals of trying to be healthy and health management. However, the categories related to these two theme overlap but they are different in nature and make fundamental changes in women’s PA performance. By examining the persistence of women's participation in PA this hypothesis is raised; i.e., women’s long-term goals and regular attendance in PA is related to goals created by the health management goals and personal responsibility about their own health behaviors while irregular attendance activity is related to priorities and goals created by the fear of obesity atmosphere. Conclusions: The preliminary evidence of the presence of women in the practice confirms this claim but additional studies are needed to confirm this.

This paper proposes a categorization of sport that is based on the system of rules that a sport must adhere to. We focus on these systems of rules to examine how a winner is produced in different sports. The rules of a sport dictate the gameplay and the direction it takes. We propose to break down the gameplay into Events. At this junction, we observe two kinds of events – ones that follow sequential logic and ones that do not. Our focus is pertained to sports that comprise sequential events. To examine these events further, to understand how a winner emerges, we take the help of Finite State Automaton from theory of computation (Automata theory). We showcase how sequential sports are eligible to be represented as Finite State Machines. We depict these Finite State Machines as State Diagrams. We examine these State Diagrams to observe how a team/player reaches the final states of the sport, with special focus on one final state – the final state which determines the winner. This exercise has been carried out for the following sports: Hurdles, Track, Shot Put, Long Jump, Bowling, Badminton, Pacman, Weightlifting (Snatch). Based on our observations of how this final State of winning is achieved, we propose a categorization of sports.

Purpose: The number of damages and severity of the injury has increased in recent years in handball. Recent studies have reported that functional testing before the season is associated with future injuries of athletes. However, the findings related to these studies are inconsistent. The current study aims to examine the accuracy of functional testing to predict the amount and severity of lower limb injuries of handball athletes in Tehran. Method: 80 people of handball players (men) of league clubs of Tehran in the age range of 20-30 years were purposefully selected. Next, functional testing, including the Y balance, single-leg jump, and Functional Movement Screen (FMS) was taken from them. The hours of exercise and competition for teams, along with the number of players' injuries, were recorded during the half-season of competitions. To predict the severity and incidence rate of the injury, the univariate curve estimation regression test was used. Results: The results of this test showed that among functional testing, only single-leg jump (p= 0.035) could predict the severity of the injury incidence, and none of the tests the incidence rate of the injury (p> 0.05). Conclusions: It can be said that only single-leg jump can predict the severity of weak injuries (less than 10 lost days), and screening tests of functional activities have a very limited application to identify the handball athletes at risk of the injury.

Purpose: Haematological, hormonal, biochemical and physical performance parameters were altered after long-term soccer training in professional soccer players. These alterations can be influenced by different contextual factors such as playing surface, training load, duration of training and competition. The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes in the haematological, inflammatory, antioxidant and physical performance of beach soccer players during the competitive season of the beach soccer. Method: The study examined 15 elite beach soccer players in Iranian beach soccer primer league (age 24.64 ± 4.01 y, weight 75.08 ± 8.15 kg, height 181.00 ± 5.17 cm, body mass index 22.76 ± 2.36) from the pre-season, mid-season and end-season. Measurements of haematological, inflammatory, antioxidants indices and aerobic / anaerobic power were repeated in the pre-season, mid-season and end-season. Repeated-measures analysis of variance was used to examine indicators change during league season. Results: Significant decrease in SOD (p = 0.001), TAC (p = 0.043) and anaerobic power (p ≤ 0.048) and significant increase in GPx (p = 0.001), ALT (p = 0.022) was observed from pre-season to the end of the season. LDH levels showed a significant increase in the mid-season compared to the pre-season (p = 0.042) and a significant decrease at the end of the season compared to the mid-season(p = 0.014). However, no significant changes were observed in other indices during the competition season(p ≥ 0.05). Conclusions: It is suggested that some physical and physiological fatigue markers ar increase during mid-season. Therefore, beach soccer players may be monitored continuously during the competition season in order to be able to provide the best training, nutrition and recovery systems for performance optimization. Coaches may use the interplay between biomarker alterations and physical performance changes to better manage workload and monitor fatigue during beach soccer training and competition.

Background: Despite significant advances in the design of performance appraisal frameworks and systems in recent years, many organizations still rely on traditional metrics. Purpose: The present study aimed to measure the relative efficiency of physical education departments in Tehran through a data envelopment analysis approach. Method: In this research, in addition to identifying and determining the input and output indices of regions, an appropriate model of data envelopment analysis was presented to evaluate their performance, as well as ranking efficient and inefficient regions and units and providing solutions to improve inefficient regions. Input indicators of this study were the ratio of student to physical education teacher, the budget of physical education department, the number and surface area of sports halls at the disposal of the department, and output indicators included the number of sports competitions held by the department, provincial and national trophies won in competitions as well as national and international athlete students of each region. Finally, DEA method was used to design a performance assessment model for physical education departments in different regions. After designing the research model and collecting the data, BCC, CCR and Anderson-Peterson output- and input-oriented models were analyzed using DEA-SOLVER LV software. Results: The results of data analysis showed that 11 out of 19 regions under study in 2017 were efficient and 8 were inefficient. Conclusion: It is necessary that the degree of changes needed to make efficient the inefficient units be determined by modeling the efficient departments.

Purpose: High-intensity interval training (HIIT) is an effective training method for improving the aerobic and anaerobic power of athletes; however, the role of activity volume in high-intensity interval training efficiency is still unclear. Therefore, in the present study, the effects of low- and high-volume HIIT on aerobic power, anaerobic power, and lactate response in young soccer players were compared. Method: In this study, 24 professional soccer players aged 20 to 22 who had no history of illness or taking supplements were chosen and randomly assigned to two groups of high-volume and low-volume HIIT. High-intensity interval training was completed for eight weeks. Training sessions included 5 min of warm-up, the main training phase, and cooling down. The training phase in the first week included 8 repetitions of 15 s of running with maximum power and 15 s of rest. Every week, the number of repetitions was increased by two. High-volume interval training was conducted for six sessions per week while low-volume interval training was performed for three sessions per week. After the training intervention, aerobic power was measured using the one-mile running test, and anaerobic power was evaluated using the Running-Based Anaerobic Sprint Test (RAST). Moreover, the level of blood lactate resulting from the RAST test was also measured using a lactometer. To statistical analyses repeated measure ANOVA was used. Results: Blood lactate levels were reduced by 12% (p=0.001) in the high-volume interval group and by 10% (p=0.001) in the low-volume interval group in response to exercise. In addition, statistical analysis revealed that the blood lactate levels in response to exercise after 8 weeks of training were similar in both groups. On the other hand, despite the rise in aerobic and anaerobic power in both groups, there was no significant difference in aerobic and anaerobic power between the high-volume and low-volume groups after eight weeks of interval training. Conclusions: Overall, the findings of the present research indicated that high-intensity interval training will reduce lactate and increase aerobic and anaerobic capacity, regardless of the training volume.

Purpose: This study was conducted to present the model of the effect of comprehensive quality management on job satisfaction, affective commitment and organizational citizenship behavior in the Ministry of Sports and Youth. Method: The statistical population of this study includes all employees of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, using simple random sampling, 253 of them were selected as statistical samples. The tools used in this study included Hartline and Farrell's job satisfaction questionnaires (1996); Moda et al. (1979) emotional commitment questionnaire; The Organizational Citizen Behavior Questionnaire of Teper et al. (2004) and the Comprehensive Quality Management Questionnaire of Zhang et al. (2000), whose formal content, and structural validity have been confirmed. Also in a study, questionnaires were distributed among 30 employees of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, using Cronbach's alpha, reliability of organizational citizen behavior questionnaires, job satisfaction, emotional commitment questionnaire and comprehensive quality management questionnaire. 0.81, 0.73, 0.75 and 0.76, respectively. To analyze the data, descriptive and inferential statistics (Pearson correlation coefficient, and structural equation model) were used in SPSS and LISREL software at a significance level of P <0.05. Results: The results show that total quality management has a positive and significant effect on emotional commitment (β = 0.67), job satisfaction (β = 0.61) and organizational citizenship behavior (β = 0.85). The results also shows that job satisfaction had a positive and significant effect on organizational citizenship behavior (β = 0.52) and emotional commitment (β = 0.75) and organizational citizenship behavior also had an effect on emotional commitment (β = 0.54). It has a positive and significant effect. Conclusions: Therefore, staff managers in the field of Warsaw should emphasize the presentation of these principles in order to increase productivity in the country's sports. It is suggested that the special method of evaluation of managers of the Ministry of Sports and Youth be designed based on quality awards and that the best managers be identified and encouraged in this regard every year.
